President Obama promised in his health-care speech to get rid of, you guessed it, waste, fraud, and abuse (a.k.a. WFA) in our health-care system. Unfortunately, expanding government's role in the provision of health care is likely to increase WFA, as Medicare fraud already costs, per Secretary Sebelius "tens of billions a year." I talked about the endemic nature of Medicare fraud on Fox Business yesterday, and today crack researcher Jack Pitney has compiled a list of promises from every president dating back to Eisenhower promising to root it out. I'm anti-fraud, no doubt about it, but this list makes one somewhat skeptical that this latest presidential promise to get rid of it will come to fruition.
